Diamondbacks Lose Tough One At Home

Diamondbacks bats were alive last night at home along with great starting pitching, re-stating an issue that has been going on for years, why can’t the Diamondbacks win at home!  The Chicago Cubs fans showed out in full force last night, there were more Cubs fans than Arizona fans which might be a big part of the problem.  The Dbacks history of not making the playoffs lately has definitely made fans more tepid to watch and go to the games.  The last two losses have been very similar, 8 innings of great baseball where they are tied and then allow multiple runs in the 9th.  Hopefully the Diamondbacks can trade for more relievers, while Mantiply is an amazing relief pitcher for us he only pitches one inning and they need more than just one guy every game.

Ketel Marte is officially back after his early struggles!  In the last two games Marte has reached base 4 times and two of them were doubles.  One of the best features of Marte is he can work the pitcher over, multiple times in the last two games he has at least 8 pitches per attempt at home.  Fans don’t need to freak out, Diamondbacks have won 12 of the last 17 games they have played and they have the winning formula. Great pitching, plus a couple star players, plus good rookies out working their contract.  This is how a team with a lower spending limit like Arizona has to win. The Diamondbacks are currently only 3 games behind the Dodgers and the Padres and if they win tonight it will be the first time since 2015 Arizona has beaten Chicago in a series.

Today will feature Castellanos vs. Justin Steele and Castellanos has been performing much better lately.  With Diamondbacks reaching base 11 times a game over the last 2 games hopefully they can reel in some runs and steal a W before facing the Dodgers in a 4 game series.
