The Phoenix Suns lost their third straight game after the ankle injury to star Forward Kevin Durant, and the timetable to his return is unknown as the team comes down the stretch of a playoff race.

Currently, Phoenix is holding the fourth seed and three games prior they were almost firm in that spot, but now they are in danger of dropping not one but two spots down if they were to lose another game.

The fortunate thing is that the Suns have two winnable games next on the schedule and should keep them in the fourth spot past this weekend, but after that, the waters will get a little bit murky with another showdown with the Kings on the road.

Planet Orange dropped to the Bucks 116-104 and the game was closer than the score indicated, the Suns were not able to sustain scoring in the last minutes of the game.

The Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo lived on the free-throw line tonight shooting 24, while the Suns were only granted 16 all night.

Head Coach Monty Williams voiced his displeasure in the kindest manner he could to not be fined, but had to say

“I can sit here and go through what you guys already know. You just got to put my name on the quote, you saw it. It’s not fair. (Devin) Book has three free throws, if I’m reading this right and Jrue Holiday is one of the most physical defenders in the game and he has three. Giannis (Antetokounmpo) has 24 free throws. It’s ridiculous, there is no other way to put it. DA (Deandre Ayton) can’t play. When a guy just runs into you the whole game, it’s like we dealt with this so many times with this team and credit to him, he saw the way the game was being called and he kept doing it, but that’s hard to swallow and this has happened a number of times when we play them. For me, it’s hard for me to tell our guys to keep their level of poise cause that’s frustrating. They beat us, make no mistake about it, but that’s a hard one to swallow and it’s happened too many times.”

Perhaps the league will take into account the tried his best to be as respectful as possible.

Monty also had to answer the question as to why his late substitution for a hot Cam Payne and Jock Landale for struggling in foul trouble Deandre Ayton and Chris Paul when they had the momentum in a 1-point game?

His answer was ” we always close with Chris”

In other words, routine over reality is the answer.

Sometimes the game dictates the rotation, with Ayton out of rhythm and Chris would slow down the surge the team had going at that time, perhaps it would have been wise to ride out the hot hand in that situation.

But we the media and the fans are not the coach, and Monty said in his presser he trusts his guys.
