The morning of “Black Monday” has come and gone, and the Arizona Cardinals have parted ways with first-year Head Coach Steve Wilks. That was not the surprise of the day, as the writing has been on the wall for this outcome for the last few weeks of the regular season. After a 3-13 season, it was clear that someone’s head was going to roll.
The Arizona State Sun Devils’ loss last week ended the chance to win the South title and play in the Pac12 championship game. I would imagine how hard it must have been to lose that game in the fashion they lost, and at your lowest, go on the road for the annual territorial cup game vs the University of Arizona had to be very difficult to do.
