The JB and Benny Blue Review Podcast was started in April of 2016 by two new friends bonded by their love of football, hip-hop, and savagery.
Jeremy “JB” Bridges is a former offensive lineman in NFL, playing 10 years in the league for the Eagles, Redskins, Panthers, and Cardinals (Go #Birdgang). Since retiring, he has become a coach and fitness professional, and enjoys spending time with his children, and taking your girl.
Ben “Benny Blue” Rhinesmith is a former music and sports publicist turned stand-up comedian and podcaster. He can be regularly seen performing in venues all over Los Angeles, and enjoys making women weep and men cower. He is an avid Lions fan, and requires heart medication in order to get through their games.
Together, they are producing one of the fastest rising sports and entertainment podcasts around. The show is built on a simple idea: no “hot takes”, just real talk. Not afraid to say what they want, listeners can expect hilarious perspectives backed up with unfiltered truth and plenty of memorable (and NSFW) phrases and sayings.
The Review is back and this time, the Savage Duo is joined by friend of the podcast, former D1 football player, and fast rising actor Chido Nwokocha from BET’s new hit show “Sistas”! They discuss his transition from football to acting, the struggles of finding a footing in Hollywood, his role as Gary Marshall Borders on the show, and his borderline delusional outlook for his beloved Dallas Cowboys remaining 2019 season! Then, the boys recap their somewhat smart but mostly regrettable Week 9 choices to build their confidence for Week 10 NFL Savage Picks!
The 2019 NFL season is halfway through, and the Birdgang (AZ Cardinals) are showing signs of growth! The Savage Duo is joined once again by official Cardinals correspondent Sean McConnell (“The Neutral Zone” on KSRN Arizona/KazualSportz.com) to discuss the Kenyan Drake signing, Kyler & Kliff’s dynamic, Most Improved/Most Shaky Cardinals players, and the remaining schedule! Then, the boys ride HIGH into Week 9 of 2019 NFL #SavagePicks!
With so many goofy ass things happening in the world today, it’s only right that the Savage Duo come in HOT with a new edition of JB’s patented “You Wit It Or Not?” Segment! They discuss Gronk’s willingness to un-retire for CBD in the NFL, Bronx natives running “Joker” fanatics off of their block, Pastor Kanye, Two Dick Tank, and more! Then, JB looks to take the lead as the boys roll into Week 8 of 2019 NFL #SavagePicks!
Sometimes it’s so hard to say goodbye, but the Savage Duo do what needs to be done and officially BURY the 2019 Yankees and the 2019 Michigan Wolverines Football squad (yes, despite still having the rest of the season to go!) after not living up to expectations! Then, before going in on Week 7 #SavagePicks, the boys discuss the much maligned NFL officiating over the season thus far, including missed and mis-interpreted calls, accounting for human error, and more!
Following the joy of the Cardinals winning their first game of the season, the Savage Duo break down four NFL teams at the crossroads of their seasons in their new “Get The Locker Room Right” segment; discussing ways these squads can improve or potentially fall off! Then, the boys hope to bounce back after a tough week 5 and roll in strong for Week 6 Savage Picks!
A quarter of the 2019 NFL season is in the books, and the Savage Duo are here to deliver their thoughts on the AZ Cardinals’ first four games with special guest Sean McConnell (KazualSportz.com/KSRN Arizona)! They discuss the sluggish start, defense inefficiencies, Patrick Peterson’s eminent return, and outlook for the second quarter of the season. Then, the boys roll into more winning ways for their Week 5 edition of #SavagePicks!
On this episode of the Review, the boys are joined by the Special Boxing Correspondent, the Ultimate Savage Kevin Robinson to discuss the Spence/Porter unification fight, upcoming clashes in the Heavyweight division, and which prospects he’s got his eye on. Then, JB and Benny recap an interesting Week 3 in the NFL and go IN on their Savage Picks for Week 4!
