All of us have many traditions that we are fond of around the holidays; baking cookies, caroling or even looking at Christmas lights. But the Arizona Cardinals are developing a new tradition, finding a head coach.
The Cardinals enter their much-anticipated bye week right as the trade deadline came to a close. Many fans were expecting to see some trades come to fruition, only to be disappointed by the lack of action in what seemed to be one of the more active deadlines in recent memory. Fans saw four notable wide-receivers dealt this year mid-season, as well as some defensive talent. Which may leave some fans wondering, “What gives?”
As training camp concludes for the Arizona Cardinals have had two pre-season victories that meant nothing in the standings but mean everything in terms of the 53-man roster. After two weeks there are positions that may have gotten a little clearer, such as cornerback opposite Patrick Peterson. Looks like Jamar Taylor has solidified that spot and Bene Benwikere close behind him. These two guys continue to shine in camp and more importantly in live game action. Brandon Williams played deep into the first pre-season game and didn’t see much from him in the second game, he is currently on the bubble have had ample opportunity to emerge but continues to struggle to pick up zone coverage.
The University of Phoenix stadium is about to be awarded another Super Bowl (pending a vote Tuesday). If the vote passes, this will be their third Super Bowl in this arena, and fourth for the valley of the sun.
