Saturday night in Tempe Arizona the Sun Devils football team welcomes the UCLA Bruins to town and they knew they were in for a really big test after being improved behind Trenton Bourguet at Quarterback.

The Bruins come in at (8-1, 5-1) and would be the ultimate test to see just how far away from competing in this division the Devils are.
To be perfectly honest even though the outcome was a 50 burger put up by the Bruins, the Devils did a good job early and continued to fight when they could have easily quit.
Coach Sean Aguano has instilled confidence in his team and they believe they can battle with any team in the conference.
This task was a very tall order to ask to win, but a fight until the clock said zero was the plan, and the mission was accomplished.
Trenton Bourguet is most definitely the better of the two quarterbacks and gave the Sun Devils some form of a chance to put up points at home against the powerhouse Bruins.
The game featured two contrasting styles, one team had a powerful run game that was unstoppable, Bruins had 402 yards rushing and that total came from several sources including quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson rushing 10 times for 120 yards.
The Bruins only had 169 yards passing, and that was by design of the dominant run game they knew would be difficult for a young defense like the Devils to handle.
Wide receiver and Swiss army knife Kazmeir Allen was all over the field to the tune of 137 rushing yards and only 63 receiving and was lined up in the backfield on a 75-yard dash to the house.
The Devils did what they do every game and that’s run Xazavian Valladay and set up the passing game, and if it had not been for the Bruins dominance on the ground with big plays, the SunDevils game plan worked perfectly scoring 36 points and 349 pass yards for Bourguet.
It just was not enough to overcome the Bruins in their game, the Devils lead time of possession was 35 to 23, and still could not keep the ball from UCLA long enough to stop the scoring run.
The game was decided in the 3rd quarter, although, the Devils were in the game after one quarter and fell behind by as much as 35-10 late and fought back to make it respectable.
The final 50-36 and drops the Devils to 3-6 on the season, and three winnable games left on the schedule including the all-important “territorial cup” against the University of Arizona in Tucson this year.
